The camera clicks in frenzied bursts as the feed returns, struggling to right itself in the chaos.

CLICK — The former crews Four and Five back in their room, the halls clamoring as they surrender their packs and grab their belongings to—

CLICK — The arcade, incessant, moving lights and people—

CLICK — Sebastian, the roar of the rainfall and crack of his gun as Will—

CLICK — The main barracks, the cacophony of cheering as Wendy pins another operative beneath her knee and—

CLICK — Cassidy’s arm, burned black. The grating scrape of fabric against the camera. Holding Wendy close as she—

CLICK — A man shouting. Menkiida, a gun up to Alison’s head—

CLICK — The empty chair in Jericho’s office, Alison’s hands gripping each other tightly before—

CLICK — Sunlight

CLICK — Darkness

CLICK — Stability. Silence.

A dim, empty mess hall. Flashlight beams illuminate several lines of metal tables stretching nearly to the back wall, a small layer of red dust on all of them. At the far end of the room, the tables leave just enough space for a series of cupboards and a door — ajar — leading into a walk-in fridge.

Each of the cupboards are open, with little if anything to speak of on their shelves.

A low hum permeates the area, as well as the whistle of wind outside.

It’s the Outrider’s voice that breaks through first, resonating throughout the room. “…Sister Wendy? Is everything alright?”
