> Now Playing Mission Log #15
Like the Copernar surveillance system, there are several cameras to choose from, each observing different parts of the town. The selection is much smaller — and does not include any of the residential buildings.
By some measure of luck, only a small amount of flipping through cameras is required before Maven and Solena appear on the screen, locked within the harriers' quarters. The building has been methodically cleaned out, leaving behind very little except the two women.
They’ve been stripped of all their belongings — the helmets they were carrying, Alison’s camera, their suits and shoes… Everything. Even their normal clothes were, at some point, switched out for a matching pair of gray sweats and nondescript shirts.
Their hands are bound tightly behind their backs, and it’s clear that their bare feet and ankles are similarly tied, though it isn’t visible on the camera.
Solena has found a home in the furthest corner away from the front entrance, sitting with her knees to her chest, while Maven has managed to make her way to the back door, on her knees and trying to peek through.
She eventually eases back, shaking her head.
“If they were coming, they’d be here by now.”
It didn’t mean anything yet, not in theory.
Well. That wasn’t quite true.
It could mean a million things. It just didn’t mean anything specific until they got confirmation. It could mean Alison and Sebastian had escaped without them. It could mean they were biding their time, trying to find the best opening for a rescue operation. It could mean they had been captured, but that the Ebonhand wasn’t going to risk leaving them all in the same room again.
It could mean they had been killed.
