The camera’s view flickers, beginning within the same room it had observed Alison and Sebastian from before. Their things are more organized now, everything put in its place and segmented off. There seem to be some half-finished projects lying around, maybe the start of a makeshift farming setup, and attempts at making longer weapons out of poles.
It doesn’t stay still for long, though.
CLICK
— A scream, ringing out into the open air. Howling cries rise in answer, from places near and distant.
CLICK
— Sebastian’s camera now. The audio is garbled by the loud scraping of fabric against the camera as he runs full speed down an empty stone… road? The pathway is lined with large poles with bulbs and shades at the top, like streetlamps, but no light comes from them. He calls Alison’s name to no reply.
And finally, CLICKS
into place in his camera once again, Alison in his arms as he bursts through the door into the building and uses his back to slam it shut behind them.
He’s panting hard, turning around and looking at the shut door. He steps back, shifting Alison’s weight in his arms and checking on her. She’s conscious, but that isn’t saying much — her eyes are shut tightly as she writhes in pain, gasping for air as she seems to fight for control of her own muscles.
